Schedule of Events: The first event will begin at 4:00 PM. The following races will be on a rolling schedule, approximately 25 minutes apart.

4:00 PM Open boys’ and girls’ race (5000 meters)

JV girls’ race (5000 meters) (7 runners max – seniors and those participating in the regional meet are not eligible)

JV boys’ race (5000 meters) (7 runners max – seniors and those participating in the regional meet are not eligible)

Freshman girls’ race (3200 meters) (10 runners max – anyone 9th grade and under)

Awards Open races – Approximately 1 for every 3 entrants, no team trophy

Turn right onto Jefferson ( Idlewild Road ) and travel 1-1/4 miles north to park entrance on right

N.K.A.C CROSS COUNTRY MEET

Dear Coaches,

This year’s N.K.A.C. meet will be hosted by Scott High School on the Scott High Woodland Campus. Taylor Mill, Kentucky on October 16th, 2010. The meet will begin at 9:30 am with the girls varsity races followed by the boy’s varsity races. Lastly, an open race is scheduled, after the varsity events, to include both boys and girls entries.

There will be a $2.00 charge per person for spectators to help defray the cost of running the meet, clean up, and custodial charges.

We would like to invite you to the 5th annual Northern Kentucky Elementary Championship.  It will be held on Wednesday, October 13th, at the Pendleton County cross country course across from Phillip Sharp Middle School (approximately 5 miles north of Falmouth on US Hwy 27).  We will have boys and girls races in primary (3rd grade & under), elementary (6th grade & under), and middle school (8th grade & under).  The races will be at the following times:

From the north:  Take I-75 South to the Barnes Road exit (exit #156). Turn left off of the exit. Go about ½ a mile, and turn right onto Helton Street. Williamstown Independent Schools is located at 300 Helton St. Bus and “handicapped” parking on the cross country field. Parking on front, side, and back of school.

From the south:  Take I-75 North to the Barnes Road exit (exit #156). Turn right off of the exit. Go about ½ a mile, and turn right onto Helton Street. CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

When: Saturday, September 19, 2009

Place: Devou Park in Covington, Kentucky. Directions: Take I-75 to the Kyles Lane Exit #189. Head west on Kyles Lane to the intersection at Dixie Highway (US 25) and turn right. At the next light, turn left on to Sleepy Hollow Road (St. Agnes Church and School is at the corner of Sleepy Hollow and Dixie Hwy.) Bear right on Old State Rd. and go approx. ½ mile until you come to Terrace Drive and turn left. At the next stop sign, turn right on Amsterdam Road. At the next stop sign, turn left on to Park Drive and follow it to Golfview Dr. Take Golfview to the second stop sign and turn right at the four-way intersection with Bandshell way. Turn right on Bandshell and follow signs to the Drees Pavilion.

Parking: Allowed on the side of the roads in the Park as long as the street remains open for access by emergency vehicles so please tell your runners’ families. Please have bus drivers drop off runners at the course and park their bus in available areas along the road as directed by the parking volunteers.

Distance of the Races: 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) Open & High School races

3,000 meters (1.8 miles) Middle School races

Scoring: Scoring will be done by the Hy-tek Scoring System. The preferred method of entry is through Hy-Tek. If you cannot use Hy-Tek, you must submit your roster of participants by the September 15, 2009 deadline to ensure accurate data entry of each athlete.

Cross Country Series

You are invited to a Cross Country Series to be held at Mills Road Park in Taylor Mill.  The dates will be Sept. 15, Sept, 29, and Oct 6,  2010.  The races will start at 5:15pm.  There will be a 2000 meter race for 3rd grade and under, 3000 meter race for 6th grade and under, and a 4000 meter for 8th grade and under.  Cost will be $3 per runner. The fee can be paid the day of the race.  Ribbons will be given to all runners.  You can send you entry to Tim King at kign4@fuse.net.  If you have any questions you can call Tim at 859-653-5907.  Address and race schedule are to follow. Grant County Meet Sept 11 Info

See race schedule below.  Be onsite at least 1 hour before your race time.

Grant County High School is proud to extend an invitation to your school’s boy’s and girl’s cross country teams to participate in the 37th Annual Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet.  This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Sherman Elementary School in Sherman, KY.   If you are coming from the north, take I-75 to the Crittenden exit.  Turn left and continue to the stop sign.  Turn right onto south U.S. 25 and travel approximately 4 miles.  The school entrance is on the right- look for the signs.  Coming from the south take the Crittenden exit, turn right and follow the directions underlined above.

Awards will be given to the top five- (5) teams in the varsity races, and the top two (2) in the JV, middle school, and elementary races.  Individual awards for the top 20 in the elementary races will be given, top 25 in the middle school races, top 30 in the JV races, and the top 40 in the varsity races.   A grand champion traveling trophy will be awarded to the team with the best combined boys and girls total team score in the varsity races.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase.   Water will be provided at no cost to participants.  T-shirts and spirit items will be available for purchase.  Admission will be $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.  Children not yet in school are free!  All proceeds benefit the Grant County Cross Country Invitational and its participants.  Best of luck to your school and teams during the upcoming school year!
